Q: How can the Hotels at the resort locations listed on the Vacation Certificates afford to give away Hotel Rooms, aren't they losing money?
A: The chief reason that hotels participate in this "Hotel Room" Certificate program is that they are willing to give the rooms away to get people to come and see what they have to offer. They are expecting to make money in the future, when people decide to come for a return visit. Once people have a great experience at a Vacation spot, they usually return many times. It's the same as a company sending you a "Free Sample" of their "New Product" in the mail. They want you to try it, hoping you'll like it and buy it in the future.
 
Additionally, hotels rarely experience full occupancy except during conventions, major holidays and weekends, so they contract with certain travel promotion companies to give the rooms away with the 3 day, 2 night vacation certificate. Regardless of the fact that they have lost the price of the room, they give the guest two free nights, hoping they’ll stay longer, eat in their restaurants, spend money at their in-house shops and casinos, and take advantage of their amenities (spa, room service, etc.). And when they leave, after having had a great time, they hope that the guest will come back to stay with them in the future and maybe even tell a few friends.
 
Q: What are the Hotels like?
A: The Hotels used for our Vacation Certificate Program are all two, three and four star hotels such as Holiday Inn, Comfort Inn, and Choice Hotels or within similar price ranges.
   
Q: What are the Destinations like?
A: The destinations offered are well-known and popular vacation sites in North America. The destinations are subject to change, but will always be desirable locations.
   
Q: Is there a redemption fee?
A: Sunshine Incentives offers two types of Vacation Certificates. Our Gold Standard Certificate requires a $29.00 redemption fee, whereas the Platinum Certificates do not require any redemption fee.
   
Q: Are the locations and other terms the same with the Gold Standard and Platinum Certificates?
A: Yes.

Q: What should the customer do after receiving the certificate?
A: For the Gold Standard Certificate, the recipient should send in a $29.00 redemption fee, upon which they will receive an activation form.

For the Platinum Certificate, the recipient receives the activation form immediately without the redemption fee.

The activation form needs to be sent in with a $50 deposit. The deposit is refundable, less a $10 processing fee, to guarantee the room. The customer receives a letter or an email back with activation date and phone number to call and book in 10 days - 2 weeks. Reservation request must be made a minimum of 30 days before your travel date.

Q: When will the customer get the refundable deposit back?
A: After the customer checks out or hasn’t used it within the year. The only time that the deposit is not returned is if the reservation is booked, but the customer did not check into the hotel, or failed to cancel within the required time. Refunds need to be requested in writing or by email after the hotel stay or at any time during the 1 year period.
 
Q: Are there any other fees?
A: Taxes are the responsibility of the traveler. The taxes will vary according to destination but usually run approximately $10-$15 per night (per room, not per person). If travel is during high season or peak dates, a small surcharge may apply. Other than the aforementioned, there are no other fees ever collected.

Q: Can the customer bring kids?
A: Yes, but the room will accommodate 2 adults and 2 children only.
   
Q: Can the customer stay extra nights?
A: Yes, at an additional fee.
   
Q: Is this a timeshare?
A: We have availability with and without a timeshare presentation. Clients will be advised of current availability, when they call in to place their reservations.
 
Q: Is airfare included?
A: No, customers need to provide their own transportation to the chosen destination.  
 
Q: Do the certificates expire?
A: The Company purchasing the certificates receives them without an expiration date. They may choose to distribute it at any time. However, client should send in the certificate for activation within 30 days of issue date. Once the certificate is activated, they must be used within one year. .
